We arrived in Klamath, Ca. from Dutchercreek yesterday. What a beautiful drive up the coast with the ocean lapping on the shore. On our way we drove thru part of the redwood forest district and today we drove thru more national parks and stopped at the Big Tree (304 ft tall,21.5 ft in diameter and 1500 years old); drove thru the middle of a tree with the car; saw the corkscrew tree (shaped like a corkscrew) ;the Indian Cermonial grounds (Yurok band) and stopped at the Trees of Mystery Museum. We met Paul Bunion and his ox Babe at the museum. The redwood trees are magnificant, reaching for the sky as straight as a pin. It is well worth taking the trip up the coast just to see the wonder of the trees.

Well, the time has come and we have to leave for Canada. We decided to go up the coast and meet Tanya and Parm in Los Gatos. We stopped in Ventura, California for 2 days. It is right on the Pacific Ocean and we enjoyed a great 2 days. We visited Spinnakers resturant for a seafood platter and we found 5 thrift stores right on Main Street. The following day we went to Oxnard and walked in the ocean and on the pier. What a lovely place. We found a Soupplantation to have lunch and enjoyed another nice day with Chuck and Shirley The guys managed to fit in an air museum as Shirley and I watched the police cadets being put through theiir routine exercises.

Hemet and Ramona Canyon, February, 2009
We went to Hemet, California and stayed at Golden Village Palms R.V. Resort. It is a wonderful park and close to everything. They have three pools and hot tubs with a complete gym which we visited every night. After a week we went on to Ramona Canyon. It wasn't a great park and the weather was rainy and cold. The only good thing was the prime rib at the casino for $5.99 and the baby back ribs at the Veterans of Foreign Wars. We visited Jullian while at Ramona Canyon. It is situated in the hills with a windy road to the small town. Lots of craft shops and tourist drawing exhibits. Our cat enjoyed the rocks at Ramona Canyon and looks like a cougar setting there.
Grand Canyon, November, 2008
We crossed the border on November 5 to meet up with Chuck and Shirley and Art and Lois to travel to Grand Canyon and on to Catalina Spa. We encountered a snow storm in Williams on our way to the Grand Canyon. The canyons are magnificant but it was definately too cold to enjoy them to their full extent. Williams was alight for the Polar Express and everyone was dressed in their night attire for the train ride. We stayed their for three cold days taking the train to the canyons. On the returntrip we were held up by bandits which we had to pay off. We are definately looking for warmer weather now.
Trip across Canada, May 2008
We started our trip across Canada at the end of May after spending time with our daughter, Denise and family in Williams Lake, B.C. and Denis' brother and family in Quesnel. We want to get to Ottawa by the end of June to take care of our grandson. We spent the month of July and first of August in Ottawa. Ottawa is a beautiful city with lots to do. We visited the military museum, parliament buildings, canoed on the lakes, and rode our bikes on the many trails. We had a great visit with our daughter Tanya and son, Joseph, Ruth and Sam. Our oldest granddaughter flew out for the mionth of July before having to return to Williams Lake for hockey. Both our granddaughters are hockey players. Court, the oldest got accepted to play with the Prince George girls team and go to school in P. G. We travelled to Nova Scotia from
Ottawa taking the ocean side of New Brunswick. We spent time with friends and relatives. Paulette visited her old elementary school and her mom's house, before heading back. We encountered Chuck and Shirley in Ottawa and spent some time with them. The fall colors were in their glory on our trip back.

The Living Desert, January, 2009
A group of 10 people visited the living desert in Palm Springs. We seen a variety of different birds, animals, insects, ect. in their natural habitants. Paulette had her picture taken with the giraffe. It was to early for the humming bird exhibit but otherwise we learnt a great deal about the desert inhabitants.
Motorhome house warming February, 2009
Our friends had a house warming when we bought our new motorhome. We had 16 people in the motorhome for a delicious supper and lots of fun. We bought a 2004 Sahara Safari, 40 foot class A motorhome. We are settling in and enjoying the extra space. The animals are adjusting to the change and we are enjoying not having them caged at night. They sleep at the foot of the bed on the floor and only Mittens, the cat wakes up in the morning.

Christmas December, 2008
We had a great Christmas Eve party with about 30 friends at the club house in Catalina Spa. Everyone had a great time and it was made extra great as Tanya joined us for a couple of weeks. The weather didn't cooperat but it was still a good time. Christmas dinner was at the Augustina Casino in Palm Springs. We decided that next Christmas dinner would be more personal as something was missing. Boxing day was buffet breakfast with everyone including orange juice with champagne
We celebrated New Years with about a dozen friends and a rib dinner. Art even stayed up to see the new year in.
