Apache Trail, Az

What beautiful scenery we seen today on the Apache Trail. We stopped at the Goldfield ghost town , had tea at Tortilla Flats (population of six) and viewed some of the lovely mountain teaks and ravines in the area. I eat prickly pear candy for the first time and bought some prickly pear jelly to try. The candy was sweet and tasted like strawberries. We discovered a couple of national parks along the way but the road up was twisty and narrow for a motor home.

Emerald Cove, Ca November 15 - 24, 2010

The weather was great for the first couple of days so we met up with Vicki and Pete's friends for another round of golf at Jackass Flats. Everyone had the usual shots in the sand traps and off the rocks but in all it was a fun time. We all went to Lake Havasu to visit the London Bridge again as Vicki and Pete hadn't see it. We visited the Parker Dam and drove across it to take a scenic tour of the Colorado river. We are looking forward to Mesa next week as we haven't been before. We will spent two weeks in Mesa before moving to Buckeye. Tanya is coming to Phoenix so we will spend a few more days here to show her around before going to Catalina. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Jackass Flats Golfing - November 20, 2010

The six of us went golfing at Jackass Flats here at Emerald Cove. We had s great time with golf balls going off in all directions. Vicki and Denis left early to go to the big course for a game of routine golf, if there is ever a routine game of golf. We also had a game of miniature golf at the resort to round off the day. We went to the karaoke which really left much to be desired. In all it was a fun day.

Needles, Ca. & Lake Havasu, Az

We spent a few days in Needles visiting with Denis' boss and wife. We also met another couple that we knew from Quesnel, so happy hour was very enjoyable. We also went to Lake Havasu and drove over the London Bridge. That was our second time, once in London, England and then Lake Havasu. We spent an enjoyable day with everyone and are moving off to Emerald Cove to meet up with Vicki and Pete again. The weather has been fabulous.

China Ranch Date Farm - Tecopa, Ca

Today we visited China Ranch Date Farm. It is in the Death Valley area near Tecopa, Ca. It is a family owned and operated small farm, a lush piece of greenery amidst the forbidding Mojove Desert. It is hidden away in the most spectacular scenery of the desert. The grandson of the family that established the farm has now purchased it after many owners and is restoring it. You can visit the Tecopa Hot Springs and Shoshone while you are in the area. We had lunch at the Crowbar Restaurant that Chuck, Shirley and us had lunch this spring when we visit the area on our way home.

Junction City, Oregon - Cummins October 2010

We managed to have the new radiator at Cummins in Coburg, Oregon before moving to Junction City to have some work done at Custom Works. After spending a couple of weeks in the area we were ready to move on. We left Eugene and headed southest via highway 58. What a great highway and scenery. We stopped in a little RV site in Altarus, Ca. before heading to Reno where we spent a night at the Grand Sierra Casino R.V. resort. Then it was off to Tonopah and finely Pahrump, Nv. to meet up with Pete and Vicki. We have had a great time although it has been a bit cool at times. Today we went to Death Valley National Park to check it out. What a site with mountains and deep valleys. We were -190 ft below sea level. There was a Furnace Creek Resort where we had lunch and met other canadians. There was a craft show at the resort and hundreds of RVs in the desert. We would like to spend some time there next year on our way down
