Back at Catalina Spa in Desert Hot Springs meeting friends and enjoying the christmas eve party. Santa even found us here so guess we were good this year.

Buckeye, Az - December, 2010

Tanya arrived safely after wondering if the snow storm would delay her. We are busy visiting the sites, shops and zoo. We have to get everything in in four days before we head to Catalina for Christmas and New Years. We went to Cabala's and checked out all the interesting outdoor equipment. Denis found a boat that he would like to have. A day was spent at the Phoenix zoo with all the animals. Tanya rode a camel for the first time. We went to supper at the Organ Pizza and shopped in Old Town.

Mesa, Az , December 1 - 8 , 2010

We spent a week in Valle Del Oro in Mesa and then moved to Val Vista. They are both Cal Am resorts and they own 11 resorts here in Mesa. We are really taken with Val Vista. The people are so friendly and there are lots of B.C.er's, Albertans as well as folks from Ontario. They have 4 pools, lovely gym, 4 club houses with entertainment going on every day in the court yard as well as crafts of all kinds, and pools tables in abundance. We watch the Christmas Parade of golf carts the other day and all the clubs had a decorated golf cart or entertainment. We plan on coming back next fall as they have a special on for 3 months. We managed a trip to Scottsdale and the Fashion Square. Lots of nice restaurants and pricey shops. We were in Nordstroms, Macy's and saw the hotels and statues throughout old town.
